Training days

(Papudo, Chile, 2017)

Every Year the soldiers belonging to the sub official academy of the Chilean Army are sent to a training camp to perfect their combat and operative abilities. It´s a rough period of time when the young privates have to overcome physical challenges and learn about team working and obedience. The sub official corps represent the 70% of the army, so what these young soldiers learned during these campaigns will be crucial for their future.

Chile has not been actively involved in any armed conflict since the Pacific War of 1879 – 1883, but ever since then, the country has been involved in border issues with Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia. “We need to be prepared”, they say.
