In Valparaíso (Chile) a wildfire means nightmare. The last 3 years fires have taken about 3500 houses in the poorest side of the city. Up in the hills, where the uneven topography, the unplanned settlements, the lack of emergency plans and the absence of water supply made a perfect cocktail for disaster. Despite the economical growth and the turistical boom in the city after be declared as “World Heritage” site. The residents of the lower income areas in the hills know that any day the fire can return and take all what they have.
